I had a friend back in the day. Had a history of cheating and being a male whore. He finally found” the one” and decided to settle down.
He tied the knot in spectacular fashion and dedicated himself to being a model husband.
But his wife, who was stuck in the past and couldn’t see passed his old ways and the ways of people around him, accused him of cheating every time he left the house. No matter where he went or who he was with, she “knew” he was cheating.
He quit his job and got a new one, cut ties with many friends and doubled his efforts to prove his fidelity.
But to no avail. She could not be placated.
Her friends and co-workers, unhappy with their own situation kept filling her with doubt and conjecture to the extent that nothing would dissuade her from her “truth”.
On one of the few times we got a chance to talk, he said to me
“I’m so tired of being accused of something I’m not doing. Maybe I should just to do it”
My reply was
“If you know that you are not at fault, never give her a reason to be right”
Right now way too many Americans are acting like this psycho bitch from Baltimore.
And way too many are doing what my buddy was thinking about.
My friend was in no way perfect. Far from it. Lol
But his attempts to change his ways for the better were negated by someone way too emotionally invested in the “truth” that she wanted to be the truth.
