I do! My Dymo Label Master is the second greatest gift my in laws have given me so far. Right behind raising an amazing daughter who for some masochistic reasons fell in love with your humble narrator. As a Chef, labels help everything to “have a home and be in their home” in the restaurant. Labels cut down on the amount of things you have to remember at a moments notice in the middle of the dinner rush. Labels make things look organized. Labels on “things” make the world a better place!
Labels on people are not a good thing. They only serve to divide and single out those people for special attention both negative and positive. You would think that after 4 years of high school we would all have had enough of the cliquishness and false superiority of certain groups. But just like high school our society has learned nothing.
The not quite right but still somewhat wise definition of insanity is repeating the same actions expecting a different outcome. This sounds like scientific testing. The insanity part is not stopping after years and years of the same outcome. Labeling only serves to help the rulers divide us and make certain groups easy targets for others.
“Hey, you want to know who to blame for your problems”?
“It’s those (insert convenient label here) over there. They are going to (insert applicable objectionable action here) to (something or someone held dear by you). We are the only ones who can save you and the rest of the country”
‘All you have to do is let us control every aspect of your life “
On one side of this coin we have overly educated under life experienced we try to be everything to everybody type people making promises they will never be able to keep. Then playing the blame game with the other side of the coin. You know, those people trying to keep us in economic slavery but enforcing the need for the next big thing and supplying us with an abundance of disposable products that need replaced every few years. Not just typical items, like razors, napkins etc but cell phones, TVs, cars even disposable relationships.
Another major issue with labeling people is there is no set standard for labeling. Everyone has their own definitions and only certain groups are allowed to use certain labels which are prohibited for others to use. This seems somewhat arbitrary and fluid. The N-word comes to mind. EVERYONE needs to stop using it. It’s a heinous term that has permiated modern media to the point that stupid white boys from Pleasent Pines USA feel its acceptable in every day usage. It is not.
So keep the labels for cans on the shelf or little drawers of fasteners. People are meant to grow and evolve and labeling only serves to divide us into easily managed groups.
