I just looked at the drafts section of this thing and I have 17 unfinished stories/posts/bouts of mental diarrhea piled up. Lots of starts and stops. I look around the workshop, half finished projects all around. So, Mr. Jenkins, what’s the problem? You are usually the productive, focused(in the broadest sense of the word) creativity machine. What gives?
The powers that be have ramped up their efforts to break the spirit of We the People. What I am feeling is the same as you are feeling. Fear, anxiety, uncertainty, despair all of which are psychological tools used to break a person or people. The majority of We the People lived with all of these during the “good old normal days” that people seemed to be so fond and reminiscent of. It’s only when the present situation sucks that bad that people wax sentimental about the shit sandwich they were forced to eat before.
Example of this.
When Eminem was at his peak. I hated him, heart and soul. Not as much as Tupac, but I hated him. He was everything wrong with pop hop as far as I was concerned. Fuck him go hang yourself.
Fast forward 20 years. Compared to the putrid bile that is “the shit” now. Eminem is indeed a music prophet. His rap-fu is Godlike. I sit corrected. And all it took was time and a Change of Perspective
Circling back to my point.
As our Government and their incompetance, evil plans or whatever adds to the problems and stress of We the People. We all start to sink through sadness, to despair to disillusion. And then we become easier to control. We become less motivated, less inclined to give a fuck. Less inclined to help a neighbor, less interested in how the Government is fucking us. Less likely to think of creative ways to point out how messed up things are.
Less likely to do much of anything. And this is what they are counting on.
And if you aren’t feeling any ill effects from the state our Government has put us in. You are probably part of the problem.
