Disagreement without Disrespect or Disregard

I came across this video by Van Jones. Until I googled him I think I had seen/heard his name and knew he was a talking head on the internet. Don’t really have an opinion on him. I do however have an opinion on what he says in this video.

A solid two run homer , sir.

Beyond the overall theme which I liked getting the view from a liberal constructive standpoint instead of the exact thing he talks about. A good many people might find him a bit preachy at points. But I’d say those type of people are part of the problem.

Disagreement without Disrespect or Disregard.

That’s the main theme. Learn it. Use it. Live it. It’s the future. If you don’t, won’t or can’t.

You are the weakest link.

Good Bye

And on to point 2. In my opinion a very important and probably not intentional thought.

He talks about how somehow the Republican party has been steered away from “conservatism” has been twisted into something else. Hmmmmm just like the Democrat party has been twisted into the more “Progressive” Democratic party. I never understood why our Liberalism never seemed very liberal. At least not in the classical sense of the word. I’m detecting a trend. Steering the only two parties into being more devisive and antagonistic towards anyone who is not them. Almost sounds like a plan. If I didn’t wholeheartedly believe in the fact that in today’s world a secret is about as real as a unicorn or the team formerly known as an offensive to Native American people and rich white liberals mascot having a winning season. I’d be really worried.

Hey Chef! The point! The second one?

Uh, no second point. I just thought it was peculiar. Another point would detract from point number one. Which was…

Disagreement without Disrespect or Disregard

Edit – my possible landmine detector has alerted me to something.

When I said I had no opinion on Mr. Van Jones. I don’t, until an hour or so he was a name. Now I have a face and whatever the Wikipedia felt I should know but even more important than anything else. I have some small bit of new knowledge and understanding in an area I am almost positive I could never have any firsthand knowledge of.

You can’t walk a mile in anyone’s shoes but your own. What you can do is talk to the guy walking next to you and learn about each other’s miles.
