I was watching this video today. A bright eyed college kid was attempting to make a name for himself by arguing socialism to some guy named Ben Shapiro. Obviously a capitalist. Another one of those names I have seen floating around. It pains me to see people be so passionate about being half right. Both of them. Capitalism is about making money.
Money can be exchanged for goods and services.
You gotta have it. Just to survive. Just to meet the bare minimum We the People are working two jobs. Or having to depend on the Government. Only to be doomed to subhuman housing in an educational wasteland.
But millions of We the People’s tax money is spent on Welfare, food stamps and public housing every year! If they can’t make it, it’s because they are lazy.
Wrong on so many levels! That’s what Dad wants you to believe. But the important wrong is the millions spent every year part. If you continuely spend millions and get no improvement. Nothing but decline. You should not be running a God damn thing. We demand a better return on our investment.
Runaway capitalism is economic slavery. The most money has the most power. Governments can be bought and sold on the Dark Web. Greed and irresponsibility drive up prices. Everyone trying to make a buck. But how much is enough? How fucked in the head do you have to be to get rich off the sweat and toil of someone else. Most of the time an under paid under appreciated worker working two jobs. Just to get by and maybe if they work extra hours could some day save up and buy one of the products they make for you.
But watching these two assholes argue just plain depressed me. Without capitalism there is no drive to excel. No desire to open up your own business. No desire to create your own rap genre and record label. Nobody would have the desire to do what you love to do and be successful. Why? No money in it.
Socialism is the naive kid who lives in the world of Academia. An Academia Nut. He believes everything his Professor tells him. Blinded in his faith that only Socialism will save the ignorant masses from their evil capitalist overlords. We are ignorant anymore. We have the internet and free time. We don’t need or want you.
How I know these youngin’s have little to no life experience is they truly believe a bunch of greedy self centered politicians would ever make a decision for the greater good of We the People. Dumb asses. In order for Socialism to really work it has to be done at a smaller level. When everyone is personally invested in success of the group. At a national level in a society as diverse as ours, as divide as we are, with the politicians we currently have?
It will fail. Horribly.
Small scale socialism is the answer. In groups of an appropriate size to make sure everyone is invested in meeting the goals set by the group. Where everyone involved is ready, willing and able to do with a little less in the name of the groups success.
It looks good on paper. Just like your fantasy football roster last season. But when the real world steps in, everything turns to shit. Just like with religion. Any good idea you give to a group of men with issues. They fuck it up, royally.
But not in the Land of Academia. Where every half thought out good intention seems to work.
