The person who decided public schools would be best served by being funded primarily by Property Tax should be shot.
Many many times for many many reasons.
When I found this out, I couldn’t believe it. It’s so obvious what would happen. Poor hoods = poor schools. Duh. Whoever designed this could not have been serious.
My solution, well part of my solution anyway, is consult with the experts on what an optimum standard school would be. A school design using modern technology and theory that has the ability to furnish We the People’s children and future generations with an education that actually prepares them for life. I believe that children are our future. Teach them well and let them lead the way.
Next operating costs get added in. The same for everyone. No exceptions
Now here is the fun part. Individual schools and/or districts would be linked to a revenue stream. There are many many ways to do this. Some initial ideas
Large corporations could offer specific products that the proceeds are matched by the company and go to the school or system. Example, Sketchers all profit from shoes purchased through the schools website get matched and given to the school.
If you want more money to go to your kids school? Buy those products. Schools would have control of the who and how. Since this is a national program, the companies can’t say no.
It’s kind of like how the money raised by casino gambling in Maryland is supposed to go to the schools. It doesn’t, surprise 😲.
