Family

It’s a pretty powerful word. A very powerful idea. Dictionary. Com has this to say….

a group of one or more parents and their children living together as a unit.

And

all the descendants of a common ancestor.

I’ll start with the second one because this hits on generational wealth. GW is a very hot topic. Understandably so. If you have it, people who resent you for it piss you off. If you don’t, it’s not fair and it should be distributed to people who need it! Both sides are wrong. And right.

First ingredient for a Generational Wealth casserole you are going to first need a strong family structure. According to the definition above, a family unit is 2 parents. Nothing mentioned about gender, sexual preferences or color.

Most people will agree any couple requires a Yin side and a Yan side. It’s that way because it works. That balance thing. Once you get your strong family unit, it’s time to stir in jobs that pay well enough to have some left to save or invest. If you decide to invest, you need a reputable broker and lots of luck. Luck your investing goes well and your broker doesn’t tip you off.

Now that you have those two ingredients. Family unit. However you make that is up to you  and you alone. And potential to save and invest. You have to simmer it for 50 to 60 years. Stirring frequently, making sure you keep it from burning. If you are really lucky you could be the first person in your family to leave their kids a little something above paying off the family house when you die. Good job!

But wait you die from COVID-19. You pass into the next world content that you leave your family a little something.

Wrong.

Inheritance tax takes half.

Black families are screaming for their chance at GW, as well they should. They deserve the chance but Policies by the Democratic party has worked to destroy the black family since day one, post emancipation.

And if a black family did work hard and move on up to the east side. With out a home run in Generation 1, what money is left after Uncle Sam takes his due and proper barely covers funeral expenses. And another dream dies with you.

Our Latino brothers and sisters have rock solid family structure. Enviable if you ask me. Even working two jobs, two craptastic jobs I’m sure. That is how they keep Latinos suppressed and under control. It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the coming years /generations. How will politicians turn their cross hairs on them.

To the rest of our huge blended family. Asians, Arabs, Native Americans, everyone else. Lay low, fly under the radar, don’t get too successful or draw their attention. They will come after your family structure as well. It’s all they know.

With no family to depend on, you have no choice but to depend on the state. No matter how disfunctional your family is, they love you and got your back.

The Government does not.

It can’t. It’s not human.
