The Holidays have always brought out the worst in people. The out of control commercialism and intolerance permeates the air as much as pine needles and egg nog. Family traditions like trimming the tree and caroling are joined by new activities like alcoholism and spousal abuse.
We kill ourselves year after year after year to achieve that “perfect” holiday. Maybe it’s memories of childhood or a better time that you want your kids and family to have memories to look back on in the future. Factoring in the Mandela Effect, those memories may not of even happened.
We are destroying ourselves and families year after year, from November to January chasing something that can never be caught.
Maybe this year something will change. Someone will have an “aha” moment. And tell a friend.
And they’ll tell a friend.
And they’ll tell a friend.
And they’ll tell a friend.
And they’ll tell a friend.
And maybe next year will be a little more different. And so on and so on.
I saw a bumper sticker once that said “change starts with me”. Deep on a few levels.
But Doc, what needs to change?
That is for you to figure out. Whether personal or societal or universal. You decide your own change. I have too many of my own to keep track of. Besides it means more if you do it and not let anyone else dictate your change.
