One that has always puzzled me is how/why people are so emotionally involved with things going on in other places. Other states, other countries. Do you not have enough to keep you busy in your own life, that you can expend a whole lot of time and energy into whether the people in Arkansas dumbasses or not. If you don’t live in Arkansas, it’s not your problem. Seriously. It’s not. It’s cool you have an opinion, and are extremely passionate about it. But the voters of Arkansas did what voters do. They voted.
If you drive down I-95 south there is an atrocious eye sore of a tourist trap on the NC/SC border called?
South of the Border. Duh.
Now a SJW, from some expensive university somewhere very far from Dillon, South Carolina would /could /should be writing a strongly worded email to the owner of South of the Border, the local governments, the state Police the ACLU, The Southern Poverty Law Center and Casa Carolinas to tell them how they are personally offended and are offended for the millions of hard working Latinx immigrants who came here to seek a better life for their children. “Pedro”, the offensive mascot of SoB, unfairly portrays Latinos as lazy and sleepy. This must be remedied immediately, if not sooner. I’ll be in my safe spot waiting for your reply.
I’m going to ask around. Unlike this person from the land of Academia, I know real honest to goodness two hard job working in the flesh 100% real authentic Latinos and Latinas! With no artificial flavors or colors. I’m going see if anyone is offended by Pedro. I’m guessing on the scale of real life racial problems this will be less anger worthy than Aunt Jemima but worse than the typical “Drunk Irishman”. There will be some eye rolling and a lot of rapid fire Spanish that I will never be able to get. I’m sure that like the People of South Carolina, Latinos are just too busy to give a fuck. The overwhelming portion of Latinos and People of South Carolina are too busy surviving to care much about that. The only people who might have issues are from some other place. So really, their opinion is like a fart. We all have them but most of us should keep them to ourselves. Because they are loud, stinky and make you look childish.
I wish I had time to point out the flaws in people in other places. Lol Oh wait, I do. I’d rather be pointing out the flaws in my cook’s work ethic and quality. But COVID-19 and the death of the independent restaurant industry has determined that I must do this.
