I’m watching the news and the “Forgive $50,000 of student loan debt for everyone” debate reared it’s ugly head. While I personally would love to get rid of my $250 a month for the rest of my life payment. This is just another example of treating the symptom and not the disease.
You want to get rid of crushing student debt? How about making quality education truly affordable? Why is it almost a requirement to attend an Ivy League University to break into far too many professions or businesses? Why does a 4 year education cost more than your gross salary for the first 10 years of the typical just out of college job in your chosen occupation? Why are teachers in almost every public school system tragically under paid and yet still spending their personal money on supplies at Dollar Tree on a weekly basis. Which is doubly fucked up because the teacher is spending their own hard earned money, not on themselves or their families, but on items that should be provided by the schools. While some college professors and administrators are making well into six figures for a fraction of the work a typical high school teacher puts in.
I’ll tell you why.
Greedy and corrupt politicians in our Government. Instead of protecting it’s citizens they give us hush money and tell us to go sit quietly on the bench. The adults are talking.
Take a look at every issue facing our country right now. Lots of loud talk. No progress. Thousands of band aids on thousands of wounds. And all of them infected, some even gangrenous. We will definitely lose a limb if we don’t get some antibiotics in us soon.
